Compliance Officer - Birmingham
An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client an established Housing Provider.
My client is looking for an experienced Compliance Officer on a Full Time, three month contract with the view for an extension.
The Hourly rate is £13.62 Per Hour PAYE or £17.30 per Hour on Umbrella/ Limited.
Candidate must have a Full UK Drivers License and access to a Vehicle.
You will have the choice to be based at either on the following locations, Birmingham, Derby or Nottingham with frequent travel to housing sites for viewings.
As a Compliance Officer, you will have the responsibility for ensuring that the organisations properties are fully compliant at all times with relevant legislation and regulations in relation to gas, electrical, fire safety, asbestos and legionella.
Essential requirements include previous experience in a similar role in the housing sector, excellent knowledge of the relevant statutory requirements and regulations and excellent communication and organisational skills.
You will need to develop manage and maintain a Compliance Status' system to provide accurate information about compliance issues.
Part of your role will require you to ensure that all services and tests are programmed and that service test dates and certificates are issued. Ensure actual service test dates and certificates are logged as part of the Compliance Status System.
You will need to identify from certificates any necessary follow up works.
You will be tasked with ensuring that follow up works are ordered (by others) in a timely manner and completed.
As a Compliance Officer, you will need to liaise with contractors to ensure servicing and testing programmes are prepared and delivered.
Part of your role will be to participate in regular contract and compliance meetings with contractors on service delivery and performance management.
An integral part of your role will be to liaise with landlords/ building owners where they have responsibility for servicing and testing under the terms of the lease or management agreement and ensure that they fully meet their responsibilities and provide copies of the relevant certification.
You will need to liaise with scheme managers where the contractor reports access issues.
Furthermore, you will need to ensure that periodic servicing of gas, electrical and fire safety equipment and installations is carried out at all of the Organisation's owned and managed properties and that 100% compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements is maintained at all times.
