Receptionist - South Shields, South Tyneside
An experienced Receptionist is required to work on a Full Time, Temporary assignment, working for a large educational sector based in South Shields. Working week is Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm and pay is £7.50. The role is to start ASAP and is ongoing initially until 20th December 2018. The job role includes:

- Welcome visitors, signing them in and escorting them to their destination or ensuring that they are put in touch with the appropriate member of staff. - Answering general enquiries from Institute members.
- To respond to telephone calls, emails or personal enquiries from staff and members of the public, taking messages or referring people on as appropriate.
- To process the mail for the Institute: sorting and distributing incoming mail for staff and students; forwarding any mail incorrectly addressed; ensuring all outgoing mail is processed and franked daily and by the collection deadline.
- Be responsible for receiving deliveries of parcels.
- To manage the booking system for the Institute telephone conference line, car parking space, speakerphone and room bookings.
- To manage the central stock of stationery, monitoring stock levels and replenishing stocks as required, and to maintain basic office services e.g. photocopiers.
- To provide support to meetings, e.g. room booking, organising refreshments, minute-taking where necessary, distribution of agenda and papers, etc.
- To assist with general office tasks such as typing, scanning, photocopying and filing.

The successful candidate must:

• Have previous experience in a similar role
• Up to date comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office packages plus email and internet.
• Ability to demonstrate a customer focused and positive approach
• Be a clear communicator, both orally and in writing with good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use initiative
• High attention to detail
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities
• Ability to work flexibly and co-operatively with others
• Experience in a relevant customer-facing role
• Experience in using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and
• Relevant receptionist experience in a busy office environment
