I am currently working within the Adults, Health and Communities team at Wakefield Council who are currently looking for an immediately available temp office Manager. This role will initially be for 2 months.


To manage and provide leadership to the office support team to ensure work priorities and the needs of the Communities service and Service Managers are met.

To ensure a comprehensive, confidential, efficient office support and secretarial service is provided to the Service Director and Service Managers. Effective and diplomatic liaison and networking to be undertaken with Council Leadership, Elected Members, Corporate Directors and senior managers of the Council, other agencies and Community Groups.

Performance management monitoring and analysis for the Service to ensure high quality service delivery and continuous improvement.

To provide day to day personal assistance to the Service Director.

Overall responsibility for providing, interpreting and monitoring accurate reports to the Service Director on the use of the Communities service revenue budget. Make recommendations for expenditure adjustments in line with on-going budget limits.

Provide support and cover for the Corporate Director of Adults, Health and Communities.

Responsible for a member of staff

Ideally my client is looking for extensive experience of managing staff, furthermore experience of working in local authority would be distinctly advantageous.
